Steel Designer
Ruby is currently seeking a talented Steel Designer who works well in a fast-paced, schedule-driven, collaborative environment.
At Ruby, the Steel Designer is primarily responsible for designing systems that support equipment used in manufacturing and industrial facilities... conveyors, assist tool devices, platforms, screen guards, and ladders/stairs for automotive assembly plants or power plants, for example. He or she may also be responsible for field checking existing conditions to ensure a proper fit with the support structures. The Steel Designer will use AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling software to create drawing plans and sections that accurately depict the arrangement of the structure, and will create detailed fabrication drawings to be used in the fabrication of various steel components.
Requirements include:
- Previous experience in AutoCAD and general drafting ability
- Ability to read design drawings
- Experience in construction industry
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in 3D Modeling, (especially Tekla or SDS/2) and AutoCAD 2014 preferred
