Ruby+Associates Announces Five Promotions

Ruby+Associates, a structural engineering firm dedicated to serving the construction industry, announces multiple promotions in various positions.

John Matuska, PE has been promoted to Principal.  John, a Senior Project Manager, has been with the firm for 24 years and has managed the majority of Ruby's largest design projects, including many for General Motors, ThyssenKrupp and Blue Cross Blue Shield, among others.  John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics from Hope College, and a Master of Science in Engineering (Civil Engineering) from the University of Michigan.  He is a licensed engineer in seventeen states.

Katrin Bosch, PE has been promoted from Engineer II to Project Engineer I. Katrin has been with Ruby since her graduation in 2013 from Lawrence Technological University where she earned dual Bachelor of Science Degrees in Civil Engineering and Architecture.  Katrin’s work has been focused on erection engineering services for projects around the country including athletic venues, convention centers and hospitals. She is a licensed professional engineer in Michigan.

Marinna Plinka, PE has also been promoted from Engineer II to Project Engineer I. Marinna joined the Ruby team in 2013 after graduating from Lawrence Technological University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.  In 2016, she received her Master of Engineering degree from the University of Michigan. Marinna has provided a variety of services for Ruby projects including connection design, building design and demolition engineering.  She is a licensed professional engineer in Michigan.

Jake Montgomery has been promoted to Engineer II.  Jake has been with Ruby since 2014, when he joined the firm as an intern. In January 2015, he was hired as a full-time engineer after earning his dual Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Architecture degrees from Lawrence Technological University. Jake has primarily provided engineering support for the firm’s automotive work during his tenure with Ruby.

Hollie Wall, PE has also been promoted to Engineer II.  Hollie joined Ruby in 2016 after spending two years with a local A/E firm.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering as well as a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Lawrence Technological University.  During her time with Ruby, Hollie has worked on various truss evaluation and reinforcing projects for a major automotive client, as well as lift engineering projects for the firm’s industrial clients.  She is a licensed professional engineer in Michigan.
