Eric Hughes, PE

Project Engineer

"Growing up on a farm in rural Ontario, I have been around construction contractors all my life. I decided at a young age that I wanted to become a structural engineer."

Eric says he was interested in Ruby because of the firm's focus beyond building design. Joining a construction-focused structural engineering firm like Ruby, Eric was excited about the prospect of working on a variety of projects, all the way from building design to heavy lift design and analysis. The variety and complexity of the Ruby's projects are what drew him in.

Eric attended the University of Windsor and received his Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours and a Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Structural Engineering in 2018. Eric is a licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan.
