270 Greenwich Street is a towering, 1 million square foot, $450 million development in lower Manhattan. Ruby+Associates provided connection design expertise for the 3-story steel podium transfer girders that support the 30-story concrete tower. These connections (45,000 field bolts) transferred up to 3.5 million pounds from the concrete columns above to the steel frame of the podium – 3,500 tons of steel.
