Solving river transport challenges with shipping frame designs.

Ruby+Associates assisted with the lift and river transport of massive gates for the Meldahl Locks and Dam. To maximize fabrication efficiency, the gates were flipped 180 degrees during assembly. Ruby designed the shipping frames that housed the gates vertically during barge transport, and performed a clearance study for the bridges along the 700 mile Ohio River journey.
