Planning and lift engineering to install mill frames.
Severstal was installing five pairs of mill frames, each 32 feet tall and weighing 120 tons, using a vast combination of equipment when Ruby was retained by Barton Malow rigging to assist in planning and engineering the lift. This eventually included transporting the mill frames to their location and lifting them into proper position. Ruby imported Severstal's Building Information Model (BIM) of the complex foundation, which included numerous trenches and elevation changes, into the erection engineering drawings to determine track-support requirements and to design site-clearance requirements for installation.
